A Guide on How To Clean A Keurig Cofee Maker

Clean a Keurig Coffee maker

Cleaning a Keurig coffee maker is a very simple procedure, and there are more than a few ways to pull it off. One way is to give it a common cleaning that uses soap and dish detergent that should be performed consistently. The other method is using vinegar that should be done two to four times in a year depending on how often one use the machine. It is of great importance to keep the coffee delicious. Below is a guide on cleaning a Keurig coffee maker.

1. Disassemble the brewer.

One should open the cover of the brewer by enlivening the handle and remove the K-Cup holder inside the brewer. To remove the K-Cup holder, one should grab the top of the holder with one hand and use the other hand to push up on the bottom of the K-cup assembly from below, and then the assembly should eventually release. In removing the K-Cup holder one should be cautious because there are two sharp needles inside that could hurt if one removes the assembly unsystematically. Therefore, the remaining pieces should be disassembled with relative ease by gently pulling on the funnel until it separates from the K-Cup holder and remove the drip tray by pulling it away from the base of the machine.

2. Clean the K-cup holder, funnels, drip plate, and drip tray.

Place the elements in the top rack of the dishwasher and then run the machine on the standard wash setting using the mild dish detergent. This K-cup holder can be wash by hand by simply rinsing it under warm to hot running water. More detergent is needed for general cleaning and more care should be observed to prevent one from being stabbed by the sharp needle in the holder. One can also wash the elements by hand by immersing these pieces in hot soapy water and scrubbing gently with a smooth cloth, then rinse with a lot of water to remove all soap residues. After all this, dry all pieces well by allowing them to air dry for several hours or drying the piece manually with a clean dish towels.

3. Clean the exit needle

In the K-Cup holder both the bottom and upper portions have exit needles with the three hole, therefore, remove any debris from these holes by inserting a paper clip into each one and working out anything inside the k-cup holder. Cocoa mix and Coffee ground can easily get stuck in the exit needle; hence making this is a significant step in the cleaning course. After that, insert a straightened paper clip into each hole. One should be able to get about 1 inch (2.5 cm) deep into the tube, twist and move it around to slacken and remove anything wedged inside the holder. It should be noted that one cannot poke through the needle to the other side because the opening of the needle is located on the side of the K-Cup and not the top end.

4. Cleaning the water reservoir and removable lid.

The pieces of the machine should be washed by hand using clean water and a smooth cloth due to that they are not dishwasher safe therefore must be washed well with a lot of water. The use of cleansers or detergents on these elements should be avoided because using chemicals near this water reservoir can contaminate the water supply in the reservoir for future uses. These elements, therefore, should be wiped out thoroughly with a wet cloth and rinsed under warm to hot running water several times. Then dry systematically by allowing the apparatus to air dry or by drying them manually with a clean paper towel.

5. Wipe down the outside of the machine.

Wiping down the outside of the machine, a non-abrasive damp, cloth should be used to wipe away any water tints or dried coffee grounds on the front of the brewer. One can also use a foamy cloth for a more thorough cleaning and should ensure rinsing the soap residue off the machine afterward with a clean damp cloth or with a lot of running water. One should never immerse the entire brewer in water.

6. Reassemble the brewer.

In reassembling the brewer one should snap the funnel back onto the K-Cup, and then insert the K-Cup back into the machine. Afterwards, align the arrows on the top and bottom of the K-Cup with those marked on the machine. In which the two front tabs on the holder should be on the bottom and the single tap on the front should be at the top. Then push on the top rim to shatter it back into place. Finally, reinsert the drip tray by down hilling it back into place until it clicks.

How To Make Sure Your Ugg Boots Stay In Like New Condition

Ever since Oprah featured Ugg boots on her ‘My Favorite Things’ segment of the Oprah show the boots have become a worldwide sensation. Made from suede the sheepskin boots and other variants of the Ugg product are popular with everyone from housewives to college students. They’re comfortable and make a unique fashion statement for every person that wears a pair. Plus they keep your feet nice and warm.

Ugg Boot Cleaning

If Ugg boots have a single failing it’s not that they don’t perform as advertised – rather it’s because suede is notoriously difficult to keep clean. Winter conditions – when Ugg wearers fall in love with their boots all over again feature snow, rain and slush – the things that are guaranteed to turn Ugg suede ugly.

Keeping your Ugg’s looking like new can be a challenge – however with some simple steps, it’s very possible to keep your favorite pair looking as good as new for many, many years.

The key to keeping your uggs looking great is to make sure that you address any staining or damage immediately – suede doesn’t like to be kept waiting. Also (and this is key) make sure that you keep up with your regular maintenance.

Let’s first have a look at stains. It’s extremely important to treat stains before moving on to the general maintenance of the rest of the boot – if you don’t do this, then you run the risk of ending up with a boot with a very patchy appearance.

If you’re dealing with grease or oil, then the best approach is to use a piece of chalk to brush gently over the area of the stain. Pat it down to remove the excess chalk. Now don’t rush the next step – let the boot relax overnight so that the stain can be drawn to the surface.

After about 12 hours gently brush the chalk off and that should remove the stain – good as new. Remember this these types of stains need to be treated immediately.

Dirt can be treated through the gentle application of a specialized ‘suede brush’. If the area affected is shiny or matte then uses a pencil eraser to rub gently over the affected area. Then dampen the area (not too much water).

Allow the water to sink in and then use one of the many types of suede cleaner that are currently on the market. Then rinse. This approach should remove that type of stain.

Next we have the dreaded water spot. Contrary to popular belief there is a way to deal with this sort of stain. You can gently rub another part of the suede up against the water damaged part – that should leave the suede looking as good as new.

As mentioned, you now need to mover on to your regular cleaning service maintenance.

You’ll need your suede brush for the first part. Gently brush the boots to remove any loose material and ‘fluff up’ the suede. Then it’s time to move on to using the suede cleaner. Firstly moisten the boot (don’t wet it through). This makes the surface ideal for the application of the cleaner.

Now dampen a sponge and add a drop or two of the suede cleaner. Apply the cleaner to the boot with a gentle circular motion. As the dirt builds up on the sponge rinse and repeat as necessary. Once you’ve completed both boots, it’s time to finish off the process.Clean the sponge completely and then give the boots a gentle rub down with the dampened sponge.

Now it’s back to the waiting game. Take some old newspaper and stuff your boots so that they will retain their shape while they dry, pop them into a cupboard and within 12 hours you’ll have a pair of Ugg boots that look as good as new.

If you want to keep them that way you can buy some suede protector spray. That’ll help the boots shrug off water and stains caused by oils and similar.

This may seem like a lot of work, but with only an hour of maintenance each week you can ensure that your Ugg boots will continue to keep you looking great (and your toes toasty) for many years.
